Allegation: The Washington Examiner reported, exclusively, that Democracy Restored filed a complaint with the District of Columbia Court of Appeals’ Office of Disciplinary Counsel against Sparkle Sooknanan. The Examiner says the complaint asks whether she violated D.C. Bar rules on dishonesty and conduct that seriously interferes with the administration of justice — during her tenure as a senior Justice Department official, before the robe.
The Examiner ties the filing to a Trump-administration Justice Department report on Biden-era FACE Act enforcement and to alleged coordination with the Southern Poverty Law Center. It also says the complaint argues her 2024 confirmation testimony that she was “not lead counsel” in a Jones Day matter conflicts with firm releases and Supreme Court filings.
